History: My neighbor got my into tri's. He had done several iron distance races and let me borrow a road bike to train on in 2010. I did four triathlons that year, and now the bug did bit me. I've been a runner all my life. I ran Div. II in college. I've really gotten into the biking, but still struggle with the swim.
In 2010 I just did sprints. In 2011 my focus was on the Olympic distance. In 2012 I focused on the Half distance. I really like that distance as compared to the Oly distance, the swim is only 30% longer, but the run and the bike are more than double.
2013 was my "Championship" Year with the Boston Marathon, Ironman 70.3 World Championships and the USA Triathlon Long Course National Championships. In 2014, I completed my first full Ironman in at the Inaugural Ironman Chattanooga. In 2015 I competed at the Ironman World Championships in Kailua Kona Hawaii.
In 2016, I refocused on the Half Iron distance, and in 2017 I raced the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In 2018 I will again race 70.3 Worlds in South Africa.
